Manchester babies aged 10-12 months needed for study on gesture communication

Do you have a baby aged between 10-12 months? Come and take part in a study on infants early gesture communication.

Do our children intentionally communicate with us before they can speak? You can help us find out!

If you have a child who is 10-12 months and comes from an English-only speaking household, please get in touch!

If you agree to take part in this study, you and your child will be asked to attend one session at the University of Manchester's Child Study Centre. This session will involve your child and the experimenter playing with different toys and watching how your child reacts to different responses by the experimenter. The session will be video-recorded for coding purposes but all data is confidential. The study will last no longer than half an hour and we will partly reimburse you for your travel expenses.

This study has been approved by the University Research Ethics committee (REF 15150).
