LuCiD Centre Manager
A bit about Helen Allwood
I have a BA hons degree in English from the University of Birmingham. My third year was spent at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver on an exchange programme. After graduating, I worked in project and grant management in the sports industry, before taking these skills to the higher education sector, initially providing project support to international maternal and newborn health projects at the UCL Institute for Global Health.
Prior to joining LuCiD, I was Assistant Manager of the Malaria Capacity Development Consortium at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Whilst working at LSHTM, I completed a part time MSc in Information Science at University College London. I joined LuCiD and the University of Manchester in September 2014.
My Role in LuCiD
I oversee the day to day operations of the Centre and coordinate the impact and communications strategy. I'm based in Manchester, but provide support across the LuCiD network.
