Measuring a very young child’s language and communication skills in developing countries

In her latest blog post for Cambridge Extra, Dr Katie Alcock describes her research on child language development in Kenya. Language acquisition research in low-income countries is relatively sparse and techniques, such as written questionnaires, used to collect information about young children's language in the UK don't always translate well to other settings. In this blog, Katie describes how the research team have developed a successful interview technique for working with their rural, Kiswahili-speaking families. Read the full blog to find out more.
