Clever Mistakes

In the course of learning a language, children often say things that don't sound quite right. In this talk, Ben Ambridge outlines why these 'clever mistakes' are often a sign of progress in language learning and why the best way to respond to them it to keep on talking.

This talk was filmed at our Kids Say the Funniest Things event at the Manchester Museum in November 2015. The talk is aimed at parents, caregivers, early years practitioners and anyone else with an interest in how children learn to communicate.
